Building a Strong School Community through PTA Membership

National studies show that when parents are involved in their child's education we teach them the importance of learning and increase their chance of success. When you are involved, states the Center for Public Education, your child is also more likely to "earn higher grades and test scores, attend school regularly, have better social skills, show improved behavior and adapt well to school." And, "when schools, families, and community groups work together to support learning, children tend to do better in school, stay in school longer, and like school more". More involvement results in better understanding, more trust building and a commitment to even more support. Suddenly, school begins to feel like family. For more information on how school-family-community connections benefit students visit Center for Public Education, National Education Association and Southwest Educational Development Laboratory

PTA is open to parents, teachers, grandparents, business owners, and anyone who wishes to make a positive difference in the lives of our children while building the school-community family.
